Here at The 4x4 Center we encourage that sense of adventure by offering a unique driving experience that is fun, educational and unforgettable!
What We Provide…
The vehicles we provide are expedition prepared Land Rovers. Land Rover has a long and rich history in exploration and off road travel, not to mention having supplied many of the world’s military forces with their exceedingly tough and versatile vehicles. The vehicle you will be taking will be equipped with everything from a first aid kit to a winch and recovery gear (just in case!) In addition to learning valuable driving techniques, we can teach you how to use all the gear you should never leave home without! We will also provide you with highly experienced and well traveled off road instructors and lunch.
Did you know…. Land Rover is credited with being the first vehicle of any kind seen by 60% of the developing world’s population!
What To Expect…
The course begins with a brief introduction to driving theory and vehicle control techniques. Some of the topics we will cover include four wheel drive systems, proper gear selection and the all-important vehicle walk-around to get familiar with the vehicle that you will be using for the day. Then you get to really challenge yourself by taking what you have learned and apply it to some real world driving conditions. Our “classroom” is comprised of nearly 3000 acres of very diverse terrain ranging from marshy woods to rocky mountainous terrain, we even have some desert-like conditions for you to try! We start in a controlled obstacle area where we can get a feel for the limits of the vehicle before we head into the myriad of trails in the surrounding area.
The optional second day presents even greater challenges as we make our way through a remote part of Vermont where the terrain is very uncompromising, in fact, some spots will require winching just to get through! This days adventure is very challenging for even the most seasoned off road driver. With the knowledge and experience gained from the first day’s class, we will make it through!
Both days begin at 8:30am and go until 4:30pm
No matter what kind of experience you have, whether you are a new driver or highly experienced, The 4x4 Center can suit your needs!
